ABOUT STILL and MOTION
The Person Behind The Studio
Still & Motion is run by one person, not a rotating team of twenty-somethings learning on your account.
My name is Jay Dumbleton. Before this, I spent 25 years as an Operating Department Practitioner, working in operating theatres where calm and precision were simply part of the job. I also hold a law degree. Neither has anything to do with social media directly, but both shape how I work with clients more than any marketing course could.

Why That Matters To You
That calm is not incidental. Twenty-five years in an operating theatre means working through situations where composure is the difference between a good outcome and a bad one, and it means learning that calm spreads through a team just as quickly as panic does. I bring that same steadiness to a client who's stressed about their online presence.
I also work by suggestion rather than instruction. Someone under pressure who is simply told what to do tends to make worse decisions, not better ones. Someone who is guided tends to arrive at a good decision and keep their pride intact along the way. That's the approach I bring to every client relationship, whether the topic is a content plan or a difficult conversation about what isn't working.
I'm also the same generation as most of the business owners I work with. I understand the particular overwhelm of being asked to master a digital world that increasingly feels like it wasn't built with you in mind, especially now that AI has entered the picture too. I'm not a stranger to that overwhelm myself. I'm learning some of these tools in real time, alongside my clients, which I think makes me a better guide than someone who's never had to learn any of it the hard way.

Proving It First
Before taking on outside clients, I built and tested the whole approach on a real business: my wife Lisa's aesthetics and beauty practice.
It gave me an honest, unforgiving testing ground, because a badly performing post there costs Lisa real bookings, not just my pride.
Everything Still & Motion does for a client has already been proven on a business that means as much to me as any client's does to them.
What I Believe
Quality content that converts is the only thing that matters. Not volume, not vanity metrics.
Results are measured in enquiries, bookings, and profit. Follower counts are interesting, not the point.
Integrity runs both ways. I won't produce misleading content for a client, and I don't expect a client to ask me to.
Quiet and unassuming beats loud and salesy, every time.
